Senior School

Al Amanah College senior high school prides on the quality of teaching and learning it delivers and the recent, past student achievement in the HSC examinations. Student-teacher interactions are based on mutual respect and ongoing partnership and serve to establish a positive and safe learning environment with a focus on independent learning. The senior school offers over 20 NESA, NSW developed courses across the 5 faculties. Students in the Years 11 and 12 enjoy smaller class size hence, teachers are better able to tailor design learning experiences for individual students/small groups and identify individualised learning needs of their students to facilitate high calibre of achievement in their HSC.

The senior school values the strength of our college ethos and traditions, while embracing innovation in our teaching practice as a 21st century future-focused learning community. Information communications technology, enquiry based learning via research and synthesis of information and trends is encouraged in the learning process. Students are encouraged to build resilience, problem solving and collaboration skills which not only provide means to excel in their HSC courses but also provide life-long skills necessary for post-secondary school studies and the workplace environment of the future.

Graduates of the senior school are pursuing careers and or studies in the disciplines of Medicine, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Health, Education, Information Technology and Social Services. The college has maintained a tradition of seeing all its Year 12 graduates attaining university admissions into sought after areas of study and professions. Our students when reflecting on their experiences in learning at Al Amanah in their Stage 6 years have said……

“The most valuable learning experience has been through a supported learning environment with timely and personalised help from teachers, whilst encouraging independent learning. This has helped me better adjust to the more self-directed learning style at university, and seek help from lecturers and tutors to make the most of my studies.”- Faizy (currently studying Bachelor of Medicine)

“Al Amanah College has helped prepare me for university by ensuring learning was independent, and with challenging assessment tasks that reflected the nature of a university learning experience.” – Mona (currently studying Bachelor of Law and Journalism).
