Homework is an essential part of the learning process for your child and has many benefits.
Homework is an opportunity for parents to participate in their child’s education. Homework complements and reinforces classroom learning and fosters lifelong study habits.
Teachers usually advise parents of homework expectations at the beginning of the year in the information booklet that is sent home. The homework set for children will vary depending on their age and the subject. The degree of difficulty and length of homework will also be set according to the age and abilities of the student.
Within the homework, teachers will try to incorporate whole-school education programs such as Mathletics and Moodle (where it is age appropriate).
At Al Amanah College, we acknowledge that children need time after school for extra -curricular activities, for relaxation and for family time. Therefore, the homework amount set is left to the teacher’s discretion.
