Student Representative Council (SRC)

Purpose

The Student Representative Council (SRC) at Al Amanah College comprises male and female students from Primary and High School in Years 3–12, elected by their peers. The SRC plays a key role in representing the student body, promoting leadership, and enhancing cultural and community connections.

The SRC at Al Amanah College aims to:

Leadership Development

The SRC provides students with valuable opportunities to take on formal leadership roles, which include:

  • SRC committee leaders and members
  • SRC representatives
  • Class captains and vice captains
  • Primary and Secondary school captains, vice captains, and prefects

The SRC Induction Breakfast marks the formal introduction of newly elected members, outlining their roles and responsibilities. Leadership at Al Amanah College is grounded in collaboration, communication, and teamwork.

Primary SRC

Primary SRC students participate in the annual all-day Active Fest Sports program. This initiative develops leadership skills and promotes unity among members. Activities include:

  • Sports such as Rugby League, AFL, Soccer, Cricket, Baseball, and Softball

The program enhances communication, teamwork, and respect, fostering strong team bonds and friendships.

Secondary SRC

Secondary SRC members participate in excursions focused on team building and courageous conversations. These experiences:

  • Test communication through structured activities
  • Encourage students to reflect on values and integrity
  • Foster open dialogue about personal and academic challenges

Students are encouraged to uphold the value of Integrity, remaining true to their principles even when under pressure.

Fostering Social Responsibility

The SRC instils a strong sense of social responsibility. Through leadership roles and school events, students learn to:

Fundraising and School Support

The SRC leads several fundraising efforts to support school functions and charitable organisations. Key activities include:

  • Mawlid Fundraisers for Year 6, 10, and 12 Graduations
  • Events such as Shake & Cake Day, Cadbury Chocolate Fundraiser, Pizza Day, Spider Drink Day, Healthy Fruit Skewers, and Expo Competitions

These initiatives build teamwork, enhance community involvement, and foster school spirit.

Thank You Lunch’: Celebrating the SRC’s Achievements

At the end of the year, the SRC hosts a “Thank You Lunch” to celebrate their contributions. This event includes:

  • Expressions of appreciation from staff and students
  • Reflection on the SRC’s successes
  • Recognition of the members’ leadership and commitment

The SRC Master Plan: Vision for the Future

The SRC develops a Master Plan to guide school improvement efforts. The plan includes:
